Buildots develops artificial intelligence (AI) systems for the construction sector.
Its AI algorithms validate images captured by hardhat-mounted 360° cameras, detecting any gaps between the original design, scheduling and the reality on the construction site.
This innovative technology has now reached 12 countries; it is being used on major projects in the US, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Hong Kong and elsewhere. It has also recently secured US$30m (£21.5m) in funding to expand its operations.
This innovative technology can be very useful in tracking project progress and reducing delays caused by mistakes in design and installation on site.
Of course, such technology will only be pioneered on larger development sites, but the concept of using 360° cameras is certainly another innovation that could really benefit the industry, certainly for Health and safety and also provide finishing trades like ourselves with an opportunity to see whether a project is ready for the builders’ clean.
